The project reinforces the cross-border mechanisms for the recovery of biodiversity and ecosystem services in the Natura 2000 Alentejo-Algarve-Andalusia Network: the promotion and use of appropriate ecological production methodologies and systems for protected wetlands. Another objective is to evaluate these systems to improve the conservation status of coastal areas, increase rehabilitated areas and their profitability, and contribute to more efficient management with an emphasis on increasing knowledge and transferring technology. In addition, a network of researchers from Portugal and Spain will be developed to improve strategic and economically sustainable production systems.
