The key challenge, affecting areas beyond one country's borders, which consists in increasing the level of sustainable use of cultural and natural heritage resources by tourists and local population of the above UP area, may be effectively tackled only thanks to synergy gained by channelling support towards a specific thematic area, key target areas and specific target groups within the UP. All the micro-projects will contribute to the realisation of the Programme and the UP objectives, as well as to the realisation of activities and attainment of indicators. Substantive, organisational and financial support for the implementation of micro-projects in the designated area of support will be provided in the framework of the UP. As a result of the activities undertaken by Umbrella Project Partners (UPP), entities entitled to submit applications will have an easy and direct access to the programme. Indirectly, the UP will affect local communities of the Polish-Slovak borderland area and tourists visiting the area. As a result, common, multifaceted activities undertaken by micro beneficiaries in order to ensure common protection and use of the natural and cultural heritage in the framework of the UP substantive task will make it possible to render the borderland more attractive and competitive with respect to cultural and natural heritage and to create durable, cross-border products based on this heritage and contributing to its protection, promotion and development.
