The project concerns the efforts of the two countries, Greece and Cyprus, to address the problems that arise in the area of ​​territorial cooperation of the program and concern joint management - dealing with specific risks and humanitarian disasters, such as the refugee / immigration issue. The Greek side, through the main beneficiary, will proceed with the provision of three vessels to be part of the Coast Guard - Hellenic Coast Guard fleet. They will be suitably equipped with a healthcare infrastructure, staffed beyond their crew with nursing staff, to be hired by appropriate procedures for the implementation of the proposal by the National Emergency Center, so that they can serve on the one hand cases of patients who need immediate assistance and on the other hand, to monitor the sea routes where migratory / refugee flows are observed. At the same time, the Greek side will also proceed with the procurement of ten pick-up vehicles for the surveillance and assistance in land, inaccessible regions of the eastern Aegean islands, where refugees / migrants arrive. On the other hand, the Cypriot side, through the second beneficiary, will improve the infrastructure of the temporary refugee hosted area, which has been assigned for hosting up to 250 people who need potentially international protection. The improvement of this area means the capacity increase and the creating of better living conditions for people who need protection.
