The highest intensity of diversified phenomena related to cross-border traffic is found within a 50-km-wide strip of land located along the national border. Limited access to the border regions, resulting from the lack of an integrated network of transport systems which would direct traffic to border crossings, appears to pose a major challenge. The main purpose of the project is to improve accessibility to the social and economic infrastructure, which will increase the entrepreneurial and tourist attractiveness of the region, thus exerting a positive impact on the quality of life of its residents. The project outcomes will comprise establishing a transport connection between the Zbereże-Adamczuki border crossing and the TEN-T network (DK 17), along with improving road-traffic safety. By improving the quality of road infrastructure, the project will contribute to: - shortening travel times, - improving road-traffic safety, - proliferating external investments, - improving the functioning of the road-transport system, - reducing any negative environmental impact, - improving the living conditions of the local population.
