When a product is not used or is no longer used, it becomes potential waste. Because its treatment by society has environmental, economic and also social consequences, prevention and waste management is, therefore, an essential question for the territories. Companies are particularly concerned because they have responsibilities and regulatory constraints, but also economic or even strategic interests in reducing the waste that they produce. In this context, the RE C² project aims to structure a cross-border sector in the field of the reuse of materials through the use of short circuits in order to make the best use of the local resources and know-how, and stimulate the economic development of cross-border territories. To that end, the project operators will set up cross-border tools and common actions which enable the identification of flows that can be pooled, stimulate exchanges and experience-sharing within the cooperation zone, create partnerships between companies, and accompany them towards better management of their waste. Ultimately, the resources and know-how of the cross-border territory will be enhanced, and their economic activities maintained or increased.
