A series of concerts will be held by young Venetian and Slovenian musicians, and a workshop will be organized to study and interpret the eighteenth century opera, in order to produce the Giuseppe Gazzaniga/Giovanni Bertati’s “Don Giovanni”. The famous librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte drew on this original version of “Don Giovanni” to write the libretto of Mozart’s more famous and luckier “Don Giovanni”. The workshop will be directed by qualified musicians, chosen in cooperation with the university of Venice. An admission test will be required to take part in the workshop. Following upon the success of the last series of music meetings between Italy and Slovenia, four performances of Bertati/Gazzaniga’s “Don Giovanni” will take place in Martellago, Mirano, S. Maria di Sala and Koper - Capodistria. Eleven concerts will be held by Venetian and Slovenian musical ensembles. The artistic programme will be defined in cooperation with the musical institutes. The organization of the project will be agreed upon with the musical association “Barocco e dintorni di Mirano”, which has worked successfully in this field for several years. Meetings and conferences will also be organized to deal with wine-and-food tasting, to highlight the continuation between past and present both in the Venetian area and in Slovenia. A conference will also be held in Mirano, and a meeting on cuisine culture will take place in Mirano and Koper - Capodistria.
