The general goal of the project is to create and implement cross-border social initiatives – strengthening large families (with three and more children), creating ”Social worker handbook“, promoting disabled peoples employment – by involving cross-border community members from both countries. Project beneficiaries are ready to implement joint social initiative for large families: organising joint festival for parents with children, empowering city discount card for supplies and services in three municipalities (Alytus, Elk and Varėna) which will be the sign for large families friendship; to prepare joint guidelines ”Social worker handbook“ for social workers with concrete actions based on the outcomes from the joint training and study visits; to implement joint events for vulnerable groups: study visits for families with disable family members to share experience, knowledge and strengthen crossborder cooperation; to built durable social cross-border network by involving cross-border communities to take joint action on solving rising problems; modernising community infrastructure in Alytus city social service centre and Elk city municipality as well as equipping Varėna social service centre with the nessecary tools. The target groups of the project are large big families, social workers, disabled and cross-border community members.
