Wild pollinators in the France-Wallonia-Flanders cross-border region represent a precious but highly threatened resource. To protect these pollinators, it is essential to set up a cross-border organisation that allows for coordinated actions and synergies between regions. In order to meet this challenge, the SAPOLL project aims at setting up a cross-border action plan for wild pollinators, providing the scientific, educational and applied context necessary, and adapted to each side of the border. The project also organises complementary activities to the cross-border action plan that are necessary for its implementation and its success. These actions are aimed in particular at homogenising and sharing skills in the cross-border territory, where scientific knowledge, experience in awareness-raising, and naturalistic skills are highly discordant. It consists of raising awareness among the general public, mobilising networks of observers and providing scientific monitoring of wild pollinators throughout the cross-border territory.
