This project will involve expanding product prototyping, professional development and network infrastructure in northern regions in support of game industry companies and organizations, especially as this process relates to regional-based northern game SMEs. Specifically, this project will expand the business pre-incubation and incubation models already in use between game companies and the Oulu University of Applied Sciences in Oulu, Finland to Skellefteå, Sweden and Mayo county, Ireland and further build a northern network for SME establishment and growth in partnership with public and private organizations. It is also expected that a core partner will be included from Iceland. This project will focus on how public players (universities and municipalities) along with businesses can support the expansion of game product development, game education and SME expansion within northern regional clusters for the games industry. In this way, the project would bring added value to regional clusters while at the same time supporting the growth of SMEs in northern Finland, Sweden, Iceland and Ireland.
