Today, the French-Belgian border is still a barrier between various practices and knowledge of popular and performing arts. The street and circus arts practice is much more developed in France than in Belgium. By encouraging exchanges between Calais and Bruges in the field of street and circus art, professional training and education, the partners aim to promote these art forms. The development of street and circus arts that can be presented during winter season contributes to the progression of this art. Moreover, the partners extend the art and try to make it known to a broader audience, such as non-connoisseurs or disadvantaged people. This requires a better knowledge of these target groups.
