This project is designed for the tourist enhancement of the Consortium territories which belong to the province of Venice, and in particular the municipalities of Chioggia, Campagna Lupia, Campolongo Maggiore, Fosso, Vigonovo, Camponogara, Dolo and Stra. This territory, which possesses a valuable environmental and landscape heritage and is characterized by the reclamation construction work, bears witness to significant human activities. Hence this project, to direct tourist attention away from the most important and most visited centres (the beaches and the main urban centres) to these “lesser” sites which, if properly enhanced, can represent an interesting destination for visitors seeking personal fulfilment in the history and culture of a territory. The historical and cultural heritage is first rediscovered by safeguarding and making available online available historical records, which are then shared with the residents but also with potential tourists through the organization of public meetings and guided tours. The Consortium also promotes useful initiatives in order to enhance the knowledge of the territory outside the area. Project implementation should lead to the inclusion of the interested territory and the reclaimed sites in the main tourist circuits centring on the surrounding area. These sites can become an interesting alternative for tourists who crowd the most important places of the Venetian province and are interested in learning about the historical and cultural aspects of the visited territory.
