The project is aimed at increasing the attractiveness of Vies?te, Akn?ste and Rokiškis and creation of quality living environment where people would like to live, work and visit. All project activities are being mirrored in partner communities, addressing the same target groups and bringing benefits to inhabitants on both sides of the border. The added value of cross-border cooperation is ensured by joint planning and organization of folk art festivals helping to establish lasting people-to-people contacts together with introduction of folk art traditions of both countries to inhabitants of Vies?te, Akn?ste and Rokiškis. Acquisition of technical means of folk groups and culture activists, as well as investments into folk costumes, stage light and sound equipment, musical instruments and infrastructure (technical documentation for Rokiškis open-air stage) was in pipeline based on existing needs of each partner. Project will bring partners equal capacity and opportunities to organize similar joint events in future. A key to ensuring sustainability of established cooperation is the joint Selonian Song and Dance Festivals.
