The project partners’ group with representatives from Sweden, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Russia aimed at investigating conditions under which spatial conflict resolution in coastal zone management can be handled in a bottom up perspective in different countries around Baltic Sea. The goal was to identify legal, organizational, economic, methodological and cultural frameworks for CZM in participating countries, to test some methods for conflict resolution, and to create awareness among stakeholders in all BSR countries that problems to be solves contains a mixture of facts and values and that solutions very much have to be found in a participatory processes where all stakeholders are involved. Long-term objective of the project was to promote sustainable development of coastal areas through exchange of experience and best practices among all target groups (stakeholders, administration, students etc.)
