The whole European continent is confronted with the problem of metropolisation which has for corollary a process of greater urbanization and urban spreading. This phenomenon of urban spreading is based on dynamics which exceed very widely the administrative borders to develop on the scale of large territories, that of the competition between cities. It is about a major challenge of the sustainable development there, which depends largely on current realities, namely a governance multiple and burst to the local plan as to the European level. Regions and actors of the Mediterranean metropolitan areas are particularly called on these questionings and are in position privileged to be strength of proposition and mobilization in these initiatives of renewal of the territorial planning in large scales. The present Med project thus proposes experiments relative to the construction of sustainable strategies of development and arrangement coordinated on the scale of big territories, negotiated with an important number of actors to regulate better the metropolisation shapes. He has to end in concrete propositions on target sectors in relevant geographical scales. If the report is shared today, the practices remain isolated what leads a need of exchanges of methods and practices, and a mutualization in the European scale.
