This project is aimed at promoting cultural and creative tourism in the communities, developing tourism products based on the pottery traditions of the Daugavpils and Utena regions. The Local Lore Museum of Utena, the most important history and art institution in south eastern Lithuania, and Daugavpils City Department of Cultural Affairs, the leading culture institution in Daugavpils, combined efforts to establish clay art centres where the regional heritage and culture can be preserved and promoted. Renovated centres have become an exciting place to visit for local inhabitants and tourists. School children are eager to learn about ceramics and participate in the newly developed educational programmes, while regular events attract numerous visitors. The project has also involved elderly people keen on crafts, helping them to regain self-confidence and get supported by showing the relevance of their work to community and future generations. Project has also developed special website www.keramikosratas.visiems.
