The goal of the project was to search for new, stabile partners in the Republic of Karelia and continue product development and the marketing of tourism services directed to the St. Petersburg area. Th e purpose was also to establish new distribution channels and improve marketing effi ciency in the existing distribution network. In addition, the intent was to plan a basic training programme based on technology transfer for tourism entrepreneurs and individuals joining the industry. Th e teaching programme was to include a workshop aiming at increasing the Russia-related expertise of entrepreneurs to improve the effi ciency of marketing and product development.
