Adriatic is recognized as one of the main tourism region in Europe and wider and tourism is one of the main pillars of economic development in these regions and countries. This is especially during summer season when majority of tourists visit Adriatic coastline. However, Adriatic Hinterland, which is full of potentials for development of different tourism offer is still not fully integrated into this tourism offer. This is especially concerning the local communities which are far from Adriatic coastline and where there is a lot of potential for development of active tourism. In that respect, tourism analysis show that tourism market demands for more active tourism offer rather than spending time at the beach. To that end, specific locations targeted by this project (Peć mlini and Borak in B&H, Zrmanja and Čikola in Croatia and Orjen and Vrbanj in Montenegro) can serve as a model for developing Adriatic Hinterland as recognized OUTDOOR DESTINATION. Common for all these locations is that they are all of great beauty and have potential for very attractive outdoor activities but currently they are not part of existing tourism offer. The main objective of the Action is integrating these attractive locations into outdoor tourism offer of Adriatic Hinterland and in the same time integrate these inland municipalities into overall tourism offer with new and attractive tourism content, targeting tourists and visitors wishing more active and adrenalin vacation. Since these locations are also rich with cultural and historic heritage this will also facilitate integration of existing cultural and historical heritage into tourism offer. Main outputs of the Action are new locations equipped with outdoor tourism infrastructure and raised visibility of Adriatic hinterland as a great OUTDOOR DESTINATION. Target groups are local population, local tourism and family business, young people, cities, tourism agencies. Added value is involvement of young people in tourism businesses.
