The purpose of the project is to gather and strengthen the professional environment within ecological modelling in the Oresund Region in order to improve the education possibilities. Today education on ecological modelling is spread out between different research and educational institutions and private companies on both sides of Oresund, and specific competences are to a large degree attached to the individual institution and to individual persons. It has thus been difficult for the knowledge and competence to spread and to be utilised among students, researchers and professors in the region. This project will establish a center for ecological modelling as well as create an education for ecological modelling. By combining competences in the region, such a center can develop into a center with an international magnitude and importance, thus creating focus and attention on the Oresund Region.
