Unoccupied historic buildings can often be found within the Ems Dollart Region. This was also the case in Winschoten and Zetel. In Winschoten an old mill within the city center was empty and in Zetel an old furniture workplace. Both villages had the idea to reutilize these buildings. This idea was linked to the idea of giving young people the possibility to learn within this renovation process, not only in a practical way, but also in relationship to entrepreneurship. The mill in Winschoten shall be used as a reception room for the village of Winschoten, the furniture workplace shall function as a public educational workplace.
