Biotope and species protection in the Schutz- und Bergwald
Basic information
-
Brief description of the consultancy firmThere are a number of divergent objectives between the requirements of forest and nature conservation law, which make the implementation of natural and nature protection goals more difficult. To this end, conflict resolution strategies are being developed with the active involvement of the relevant actors. These strategies will make it easier to implement species and biotope conservation measures (specific objective 4) to protect the transboundary habitat Northern Limestone Alps. This will also contribute to the development of the green infrastructure (specific objective 5, avalanche, erosion, flood protection). At the planning level, goal-diverging and converging between claims on the protection forest and nature conservation are identified for the protection forest regeneration, the silvicultural action recommendations for nature-conservative high-quality forest types and the Natura 2000 management planning and implementation in the Karwendelgebirge. Using the example of highly relevant forest types (carbonate dry pine forest, canyon forests), action strategies for the better implementation of nature conservation are being developed at the level of individual stands through the beginnings of conservation and forestry actors.
