Basic information
-
Brief description of the consultancy firmTransStat aims to better understand the dynamics of borders through a structural exchange of data, enabling a more targeted policy to be implemented. These data are based on different themes (socio-economic data, climate, land use, mobility, etc.) and are supplemented as the data become available. The objective is to lay the foundations for a permanent collection of cross-border data, which is becoming an essential task in the activities of operators. The project also promotes integrated cooperation between governments for the cross-border structural exchange of statistical data and geographical information. TransStat's ultimate ambition is to develop a cooperation model that makes data and metadata available to various stakeholders such as local, regional and national authorities, stakeholders in the sustainable management of natural resources or future Interreg project applicants. The four main tasks of the project are: an in-depth analysis of the initiatives undertaken concerning data exchange (obstacles and solutions); the creation of an inventory of available data sets and the selection of the most appropriate ones; the accreditation and matching of data sets to make them comparable; and the anchoring of acquired knowledge and agreements to integrate data exchanges in a sustainable way.
