Brief description of the consultancy firmImatra Border Station received international status in 2002. There are new border stations on both sides of the border, the Russian station being built with Tacis funding. The border stations have border crossing points for both road and railway. Pelkola timber terminal through which 5,6 million tons of timber is transported to industrial users in the southern Saimaa region every year.
