BIODIVERSITY AND WASTE TO ART
Biodiversity and Waste to Art: raising the awareness of young people on regional biodiversity and resource efficiency through art and cultural exchange
Basic information
-
Brief description of the consultancy firmThe project will tackle the issue of low level of youth awareness on regional biodiversity and resource efficiency by applying the cascade strategy and the domino effect. That is, the whole target population is divided (cascaded) into groups. Then one group (10 teachers) undergoes training of trainers, it transfers the knowledge to a bigger group – the school biodiversity advocates from – a total of 100 from10 schools, and they pass it on to peers, family, younger schoolchildren and at least 10 additional schools – a chain reaction (domino effect) occurs. The content of the training will be developed specifically for the target groups of the project. It will be digitized and uploaded on the web site for easy access from any point. An attractive e-leaning tool will be used. The practical training will be provided through green school outings in nature parks and other wild life places. For the purpose of cross-border linkage and exchange of best practices a network of young eco researchers – 20 regional biodiversity advocates will be created. Awareness of the value of waste will also be boosted through a separate training module “Waste to Art”, where pieces of art will be produced out of waste and displayed online and at events. The messages of the project will be spread out via press conferences, media coverage of project events, promotional materials, awareness campaigns, graphical visibility features. Two big joint Bulgarian-Serbian environmental and cultural exchange events – a Culture and Biodiversity Festival in Leskovac and a Biodiversity and Art Fair in Kyustendil – will bring together the young people and boost the effect of the other activities. The increase in the awareness level will be measured by means of a questionnaire survey. It will be carried out before the training and at the end of the project.
