Deskrizzjoni qasira tad-ditta ta' konsulenzaThe regions of Champagne-Ardenne, Picardie, Wallonia and Flanders are significant wheat growing regions. Currently, carbohydrates (the bulk of the wheat bran) are underutilised for the production of molecules with high added value. The ValBran project aims to develop new ways of processing wheat bran and to produce plant-based non-ionic surfactants and sugar esters from wheat bran carbohydrates. Several processing methods will be developed at a laboratory scale, and the most promising will be selected with the aim of transferring them to a pilot scale in order to obtain economic indications and the environmental impact of the processes developed. The set of skills of the consortium will make it possible to improve research and innovation in the field of crop exploitation in cross-border regions. Each partner will bring their own skills and will benefit from the complementary knowledge and skills of other partners, giving the project a strong potential for innovation.
