The project consists of many cultural events combining Polish and Lithuanian traditions and contemporary forms. It aims at strengthening social coherence on both sides of the border and supporting sustainable development of the region, which is known for its natural valuable areas. The representatives of the Zawady commune, school in Zawady and gymnasium in Šalčininkai will take part in several joint events, which focus on experience exchange between the youth, teachers and local authorities, getting to know each other and enabling future 'people to people' co-operation. Participation in the events like Shrovetide in Šalčininkai and Herring’s Day in Strękowa Góra will allow people to explore the regions and will raise discussions about cultural similarities and differences. The youth from both countries will actively participate in the abovementioned events. The inhabitants of the Zawady commune, including local authorities, will visit Šalčininkai region, where they will meet representatives of local communities and decision makers.
