The Small Project Fund (further – SPF) is one of the special implementation means of the Cross Border Cooperation Programme Lithuania – Poland. Up to 18 percent of the Programme funds can be allocated to the Small Project Fund. Projects, being implemented by granting support directly from the Programme or SPF differ in their ‘size’, or, in other words, in the amount of support granted. Following the calls, organized by the Programme’s administrative institutions, only big projects are financed, granting support ranging from 100 000 euros up to 3 000 000 euros, while the SPF finances small projects, granting support from 5 000 euros up to 100 000 euros. All projects with no exception have to contribute to the Programme’s aims. The aim of the SPF projects is to allocate support to the small- scale projects, which are called “small projects” in terms of the Programme’s level. The aim and priorities of the SPF correspond to the Programme’s aim and priorities, while small projects contribute directly to minimizing social and economic differences in the border region and implementation of the EU Cohesion policy.
