Brief description of the consultancy firmThe aim of the project is to create a strong scientific basis for the common and harmonised management of sterlet to achieve its sustainable use as well as development of aquaculture in Hungary and Serbia. Sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus L.) is one of 25 sturgeon species endangered worldwide due to over-fishing, river regulation and dam building as well as water and sediment pollution. The following main activities will be carried out in the project: scientific data collection, preparation of several studies to initiate new approach in the fields of river management and aquaculture development as well as awareness raising actions to help decision makers and SMEs in sustainable use of sterlet as a valuable natural resource.
