The cultural heritage of Polish-Ukrainian borderland, including the existing historic infrastructure, is not adequately used. The Zagórz Commune and the Lion Society from Lviv will implement a project aimed at organizing historical and cultural events and thus at creating new tourist products, i.e. historical reconstructions at the Castle in Dobromil and in Zagórz. The implementation of the project will contribute to a better use of cultural and historical heritage and consequently, to the promotion of new tourist products. The genesis of the project comes from the anticipated intentions leading to the integration of activities by the partners in the field of promoting culture, as well as to the protection and preservation of cultural heritage both on Polish and on Ukrainian side. Effective promotion of the region in these aspects means, among others, proper use of its assets, including cultural and historical ones. The use of this potential is an important link in the development of cooperation within the local community, cultural cross-border cooperation between communities, with considering the promotion of local cultural heritage and its multicultural aspect. The overall objective of the project is raising the level of sustainable use of cultural and historical values by residents and tourists in the southern part of the Polish-Ukrainian border. Target groups of the project are: inhabitants of Zagórz and Dobromil areas, local authorities representatives, local and regional journalists, NGOs representatives and tourist guides. The final beneficiaries of the project are: - tourists who will visit the sites of cultural and historical heritage, i.e. the Zagórz Monastery and the Dobromil Castle, - craftsmen who produce souvenirs in the area of project implementation, - entrepreneurs conducting activities related to tourism in the area of project implementation.
