Brief description of the consultancy firmTo investigate possibility to open two-way railway cargo traffic via Imatra/Svetogorsk border crossing point. To network companies and authorities across the border and to benchmark most suitable management model for business/industrial parks on both sides of the border in order to facilitate networking and the use of rail connection. The project purpose is: To promote cross-border co-operation aiming at reducing the environmental load and risks related to increasing road traffic. To upgrade the border-crossing control equipment in railway stations to fulfil the required needs for two-way cargo traffic. To motivate the Russian Federal and Finnish national level authorities to consider the opening of border-crossing point as international. To improve border regions possibilities to attract investors and SME’s by creating a net-working model for companies and authorities to solve problems related to smooth border- crossing. To create a management model of industrial/business parks which by its' functionality attracts companies.
