ProjectВґs aim is to strengthen cross-border cooperation between the member universities of the Saaremaa University Centre (SUC). UniversitiesВґ regional influence will be promoted through benchmarking activities. The main objective is to produce a report on the prerequisites for building a common university-region network of SW Finland and Saaremaa bringing together the universities and the regional development authorities in Saaremaa and SW Finland. The cross-border network would offer new cooperation links between universities, regional authorities and businesses, thus strengthening the learning environment on the Central Baltic area. To pilot international university-region cooperation, the project produces a model for the cooperation of the member universities of the SUC and the regional develoment authorities of Saaremaa. Development plan of the SUC will be done.
