Cooperation of Siauliai and Jelgava Cities to improve the culture and sports services in the region

Brief description of the consultancy firmDue to the recent economic crisis and prevailing sentiment of passivity, disbelief and indifference among the inhabitants of the project area, Siauliai City Municipality Administration and Jelgava City Council have joined their initiatives for revitalising the local communities, especially the younger part of them. Thus, the aim of the project is raising the attractiveness of Jelgava and Siauliai regions among their inhabitants and visitors via improving and increasing the assortment of sports and culture events involving young people and subsequently also other strata from both local communities. People-to-people activities carried out during the project will contribute to raising of the attractiveness of the area and will help boost local service companies.During the project joint sports events within the two bordering regions will be created. Three “Sports Day” type events comprising tournaments in streetball and football for teams of young people as well as cross country run for all the interested from both cities will be carried out. Additionally two creative workshops will be organised for young artists and art students of the project region, held in Jelgava. Workshops include individual and group work, seminars with tutors, exhibitions of artworks.
