Brief description of the consultancy firmThe project includes tasks related to improving and developing the existing cross-border cycling route known as the historical, cultural and natural cycling route around the Tatras. Having analysed the needs on both sides of the border, the Partners noticed that there is a need to promote the natural and cultural values of both cities by proposing an offer that gives tourists and residents the opportunity to move from popular route sections to other attractive sites. This is what the project aims at – enabling bicycle access to the attractions of both Partner cities – in Zakopane to the cable car in Kuźnice and the Wielka Krokiew ski jump, and on the Slovak side to the Bielska Cave and the cable car to Łomnica. The project will enable tourists to reach the borders of the Tatra National Park by bike from both sides of the border and ride the cable cars (after leaving the bicycles at the lower stations of the cable car). The course of both tails promotes the natural and cultural heritage of the whole area around the Tatra Mountains. Linking this route with the Velo Dunajec cycling route ideally complements the whole cycling route around the Tatras and connects the towns of Zakopane and Vysoké Tatry. The project will be divided into the following two investment tasks: 1. Construction of a bicycle path in the High Tatras with a total length of 8.748 km. Reconstruction of the Bronisław Czech Street in Zakopane in the existing road strip of 0.776 km. The whole project will be complemented by expenditure on website update, mobile application, educational trail and information boards as well as conferences, which constitute expenses indicated in the project’s budget. Thanks to this results, that is the creation of new trails, it will be possible to obtain further results, namely: 1. Construction of new tourist trails – cycleways; 2. Development of the tourist offer of active leisure activities; 3. Promoting the natural and cultural heritage with increased accessibility to the attractions of both towns.
