PBU1
Basic information
-
Brief description of the consultancy firmThe project aims at reducing the existing epidemiological risk of infectious diseases for residents of bordering regions resulting from improper control of stray animals and improper handling of biological waste. Quite often decomposition of animal remains falls into the soil and water thereby infecting them and causing a direct threat to the human life. In addition, both Vynohradiv and Rzeszow cities have not solved the problem of vaccination control (especially rabies vaccines), sterilization and identification of homeless animals (chipping) that tend to contact infected wild animals like foxes in the bordering areas of Ukraine and Poland. Sterilization and vaccination are main preventive methods to control stray animals’ population. The overall aim of the project is to support the development of health protection by joining efforts of Vynohradiv and Rzeszow in preventing and spreading of human and animal diseases across the Ukraine and Poland border. The project will try to change this situation by controlling the number of stray animals that are a source of dangerous infection to humans and by reducing the spread of disease across the border. The project foresees chipping, vaccination, sterilization of 100 stray animals in Vynohradiv (Ukraine). On the Polish side (Rzeszow) – chipping, vaccination, sterilization of 100 stray animals and exclusively chipping of 900 stray animals will be carried out.
