Brief description of the consultancy firme-PRODAT aims to encourage the development and exchange of knowledge and experience among agencies and other public bodies regarding the protection of personal data used by governments and public administrations in the provision of public services, especially when linked to e-government or provided via the Internet, and to draw up recommendations for best practices in this field. Overall objective / Objectif général e-PRODAT aims to encourage the development and exchange of knowledge and experience among agencies and other public bodies regarding the protection of personal data used by governments and public administrations in the provision of public services, especially when linked to e-government or provided via the Internet, and to draw up recommendations for best practices in this field. Expected results / Résultats attendus Improved standards for personal data protection in egovernment departments in the partner regions and towns, the inclusion of considerations on data protection in quality label / e-government certification initiatives and the sharing of partners’ and third parties’ knowledge and experience in personal data protection in e-government departments. The main tool will be the project’s web site which has been conceived as a permanent observatory of best practices in data protection and e-government in European regions and towns, for which management procedures will be drawn up.
