The objectives of the project will be attained through the implementation of the following substantive tasks: 1. Creation and promotion of the cultural route “On the trail of technical monuments from Podhale to Liptov”; 2. Renovation and conservation works of the historic water tower at the railway station in Nowy Targ. Arranging the exposition about the old Kraľovany – Nowy Targ railway line. 3. Reconstruction and extension of the former outbuilding of the Herza Hotel in Nowy Targ and creation of the Printing Museum. 4. Construction of a wooden architecture building in Ludrová and creation of the Museum of Papermaking. 5. Restoration of the narrow-gauge forest railway in the Liptov Village Museum in Pribylina. The implementation of these tasks will result in a new cross-border product – a thematic cultural trail connecting the most important and interesting (in terms of their touristic, historic and architectonic values) technical sites of the borderland. Its attractions will include the recently opened Printing Museum in Nowy Targ and the Museum of Papermaking in Ludrová, the old railway water tower building, a monument of old engineering skill which has been saved from destruction and adapted to house exhibitions, and the reconstruction of the narrow-gauge forest railway line for touristic, recreational train rides. The creation of the trail, based on the untapped potential of the common heritage, will contribute to the development, promotion and enhancement of unique values of the borderland and to the development of the whole region by broadening the cultural offer and thus rendering the common touristic offer more attractive.
