The project aims to improve the efficiency and enhancement of joint Greek-Cypriot fire-fighting operations to deal with natural, technological and human disasters. The vehicles and equipment to be procured, combined with the enhancement and exchange of relevant fire-fighting knowledge and experience, will be able to cover operationally the eligible areas (the Cyprus territory as a whole, the Fire Brigade of Rhodes, Chios and Agios Nikolaos, Crete) of the two Member States. In this way, it is expected to improve the ability of the fire brigade to work directly, effectively and jointly at each point in the eligible areas to (initially) prevent and / or reduce disasters and upgrade the provided protection of the environment and forest ecosystems of the two countries.
