Promotion of sustainable fishery in Northern Adriatic sea
Basic information
-
Brief description of the consultancy firmFishery sector of the two sides of the northern Adriatic sea is interested by strong socio-economic barriers, despite the geographical closeness and the common historical background between Italian and Balkan coasts. Problems to be solved in the Northern Adriatic Sea fishery sector are essentially traceable to the mutual lack of information about social and economical aspects, together with a chronicle deficiency of structures. This is also the cause of the up to now non respect of European rules and regulations concerning sustainable fishery in the Northern Adriatic sea. Therefore, fishery policies should pay primary attention upon alternative operators' incomes, exploiting existing potentialities in the area, in order to encourage the adaptation to the in force laws. This can be reached through a ccordinated qualification and diversification of fishery activities in Italian and Balkan coasts, in order to give the chance to local enterprises to develop and compete in different markets.
