The project has been planned based on the common will of the involved subjects to create a global approach for the development of the PMI (small medium companies) of the fishing industry on the Adriatic Sea. The aim is increasing their competitiveness and innovation by mean of exchanging scientific and technical knowledge in order to delineate a feasible and integrated management of the resource “Sea”. The ASSAM is the most important of these bodies. It is supported by a Special Department for the fishing economy, which has the aim of creating a Permanent Regional Social-Economic Observatory for Fishing and Aquaculture.
